   London Marathon 2023

The iconic London Marathon is returning to its traditional time of year and will take place on the 23rd of April 2023. The PBC Foundation has six wonderful runners competing in the Marathon. We hope all of our members can get behind them and help raise as much money as possible. We here at the Foundation are very much in awe of the incredible dedication and hard work of these runners, many of whom have been affected by PBC on a deeply personal level. Here are the links to their fundraising pages and their moving, emotional and truly inspiring stories.

Running again to continue to help raise awareness and fund research of PBC. Many of you will have supported/sponsored me running marathons before, always for PBC foundation and to you, I am hugely grateful. I am back asking, once again to part with a pound or two to help me raise money for the PBC foundation (and to raise awareness of the condition).

I will be running the London Marathon again this year 2023. My mum suffered with the disease for 12 years before having to have a liver transplant. Thankfully she has made a full recovery and has been fine ever since. If it wasn't for the dedication of the PBC Foundation and the many people behind it and there research my mum may not have been with us today so this is my way of saying thank you and giving back what I can for everything they have done for me and my family.

Running the London Marathon this year for PBC Foundation as it is a charity close to our hearts as my mother in law (Linda) was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC), an autoimmune condition, in 1995. In 2003 she had a liver transplant at King’s and has always since supported PBC Foundations.

Maria Diamond:    http://www.justgiving.com/Maria-Diamond

I am running my first ever marathon on the 23rd April 2023. My aim, as well as to finish it is to raise as much funds as possible for the PBC Foundation (Primary Biliary Cholangitis). My good friend Matty Campbell's wife Sasha has the condition and on the 9th September 2022 actually had her liver transplant and is recovering well. It would be brilliant to raise monies to support their research and awareness of this charity as I train for and run the race. I feel really privileged to run for the charity and so pleased they have given me the place. Thank you to all at the PBC Foundation.

Running to support the Foundation after they became a lifeline for his friend’s mother after she was diagnosed. The PBC foundation are a wonderful organisation, supporting people that are living with the condition as well as funding life changing treatment.
