PBC International Summit

PBC International Summit

Scoping the Landscape:
Reaching New Heights.

PBC International Summit

Hosted by the PBC Foundation in Edinburgh
Tuesday 23 to Friday 26 May 2023

The PBC community

A four day international summit bringing together clinicians, patient advocacy groups, patient support organisations, regulators and industry partners from across the world for patient-focused discussions on the unmet needs in PBC.

Looking at the challenges across the entire PBC community and creating solutions and calls to action. We will be addressing the unmet need of the PBC patient population; the challenges facing the entire PBC community in 2023; the clinical trial landscape and the future of PBC; ways in which the community can work together to improve the quality of life of those affected by PBC.

International perspectives

Clinicians from across the world including members of our Medical Advisory Board from Japan, Australia, Canada, US and Italy will be working to strengthen the advocacy work of the Foundation to ensure we reach as many stakeholders as is possible to improve PBC care.

17 patient advocacy groups and support organisations will join us to explore opportunities for collaborations and partnership working. We shall also hear about the wonderful work of the organisations attending.

Industry partners will be presenting to patient groups latest data and thinking on clinical trials on treating disease progression, symptoms and maybe even a potential cure!

Putting the patient first

The Foundation is immensely proud to host this event. It brings the patient voice to the very core of everything the community is trying to achieve.

It also brings together the community as a collective of equals: size, budget and reach are not considerations. Every single participant is an equal, meaning the biggest pharma or the smallest biotech are having the same conversations. It also means that patient groups, from million pound organisations that work in all liver diseases to individuals working at home striving to do the best they can all are part of the conversation and have access to the same information, with the same potential to empower their own communities.
